Two of the best-loved translations of the Bible together in one volume make this Bible one of today’s most popular parallel Bibles. Now available with 16 pages of Timothy R. Botts Bound for Glory art, including the Scripture verses that inspired each piece of art. The lyrics of each spiritual are also included in the front matter. His art pieces honor the persevering faith of the African-American people as they worshiped God through hymns and spiritual songs, and they visually represent a slice of America’s musical history. These spirituals continue to be performed by today’s symphonies and classical choirs.
The New Living Translation is an authoritative Bible translation, rendered faithfully into today’s English from the ancient texts by 90 leading Bible scholars. The NLTs scholarship and clarity breathe life into even the most difficult-to-understand Bible passages but even more powerful are stories of how people’s lives are changing as the words speak directly to their hearts. That’s why we call it The Truth Made Clear.
The work of TIMOTHY R. BOTTS reaches back to letterforms as old as first century and combines with them contemporary graphic design principles in order to express the meaning of great words. With a BFA in graphic design from Carnegie Mellon University, he has designed more than 600 books, including 9 of his own work including Doorposts, Messiah, and a Bible illustrated in his calligraphy. He is a part time instructor with College of DuPage and has taught workshops internationally. He is artistic director for Masterpiece Ministries, an annual arts camp for high school students. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Newberry Library.
